What is My Medicare
MyMedicare is a voluntary patient registration program that aims to formalise the relationship between patients and their healthcare providers.
Healthcare providers include your:
- General practice
- General practitioner / regular doctor
- Primary care teams
Registering for MyMedicare is a quick and simple process that offers benefits such as:
- Greater continuity of care with your doctor
- Longer Medicare Benefit Scheme (MBS) funded telehealth consultations with your GP
- Improved health outcomes through formalised relationships
- Enhanced chronic disease management

Eligibility. You’re eligible to register if you have:
- Medicare Card or Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) Veteran Card
- Had 2 or more face-to-face appointments at your regular practice in the past 24 months or one face-to-face visit for practices in remote locations
